10 - The Best of the Best. Transcendent, essentially perfect, important, and likely to remain a touchstone for years to come.
9 - Very Nearly Perfect. A pinnacle of an artist's or set of artists' achievements, something that all film or TV lovers should experience.
8 - Excellent. Among the best work of the artists involved, or among the best in the given genres, though it may only appeal to fans of those artists or genres.
7 - Damn Good. Stands out and is definitely worth checking out, though it has some flaws.
6 - Good. Enjoyable and should be of interest to fans of the artists or genres, but has specific weaknesses.
5 - Average. Decent, but will probably appeal mostly to fans of the artists. Some admirable aspects (performances, cinematography, soundtrack, direction), some not so good.
4 - Unexceptional. Truly a mixed bag, with some highlights, but not enough to distinguish itself from similar films/TV or artists.
3 - Weak. Bland, with little to distinguish it or recommend it, even to fans of the particular artists or genres.
2 - Seriously Flawed. Contains major flaws that limit appreciation; very poor work by the artists involved, very poor representations of genres.
1- Terrible. So poorly conceived, executed and/or performed that it is an embarrassment to the genres and artists concerned. To be avoided at all costs.
