London trio Ex Libras released their new EP Woe last month, and now have a video for the vibrant track “Leap of Faith”, which can be seen below.
“The song is very much about reaching that point in a relationship where it’s about to end but no one is fully out the door,” the band says. “In that moment, what goes on in our heads? What do we think about? Are we looking at the relationship for what it is, or looking at it for what it’s become? The lines at the end ‘If you need to fix this then I guess this must be broke’ is trying to call it like it is, but its partner line ‘monsters will be monsters, and hope will always stay hope’ is about that internal conflict. Can things get better, or has it reached that point of not being able to change?
“The video itself was shot last year. Initially we had thought ‘Leap of Faith’ would be the first single and so we made a straight-up performance video to remind people of who we are and what we do. We’re Ex Libras and we make noisy live music. Even though ‘Woe’ was released as our first single it still works out nicely for us as this will still be the first visual introduction to the band.”
