Dinosaur Feathers: Early Morning Risers

Dinosaur Feathers
Early Morning Risers
self-released

With vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Who, Brooklyn’s Dinosaur Feathers have released a four-song EP in anticipation of its debut full-length, Fantasy Memorial, due in March. The duo (vocalist Greg Sullo and keyboardist Derek Zimmerman) use found sounds like street noises, car sirens, and other sounds surrounding their Brooklyn lives to make their songs that much more “familiar”. They layer these sounds, resulting in comparisons to Animal Collective. These textured psychedelic pop songs certainly whet the appetite for more. Check out “Cold Arabella”, a stunner that combines other worldly percussion and calypso melodies.
