As beguiling as they can be, Wild Beasts’ off-kilter three-part-vocal-dominated stylings aren’t necessary what one would call naturally accessible. Luckily, the immediacy of this six-song live set makes it the perfect place for the neophytes to become acquainted with the British quartet, as the band makes its innate quirkiness palatable via the tried-and-true approach of “giving good show”. Onstage, Wild Beasts’ songs are assured and fittingly majestic, with the instrumentation and the band’s quavering Orange Juice-meets-Tindersticks crooning coming together to ebb and rumble like some storybook starry-skied sea. It’s great mood music, and the only failing to be found is that it ends too quickly. But that’s what the albums are for, aren’t they?
