The country-pop singer Kasey Chambers’ Little Bird has already gone gold in Australia, but it won’t be released in America until July 14th on Sugar Hill. In the meantime, here’s a video of one of the sweeter songs, “Beautiful Mess”, shot in a field of tall, yellow sunflowers. She wrote the song when she was at home babysitting a friend’s one-year-old son, Townes, along with her two young boys Arlo and Talon. “It was one of those chaotic days with kids running around and having lots of fun while this song was coming out. And that’s what it felt like that day – a beautiful mess. That’s what parenting constantly feels like,” Chambers said. Her band, the Millionaires, is also a family affair that features her husband Shane Nicholson and her dad Bill Chambers on guitars and stringed instruments, along with John Watson on drums, Jeff McCormack on bass, and Jim Mogine (Midnight Oil) on guitar.
