The first full-length release from Lars Leonhard chronicles U.S. Airways Flight 1549 which landed in the Hudson River in early 2009 after striking a flock of geese during its ascent. The event became known as the Miracle on the Hudson and this 11-song instrumental journey re-imagines that oh-so-short journey. It’s interesting enough, executed with warmth and minimal sound effects, each of the tracks staying just long enough to feel like welcome guests. Trouble is, they don’t have overwhelming personalities and their presence fades, once the collection has wound down, into the ether. Not particularly remarkable, not wholly unremarkable.
