Camera never wanted to record music, they just wanted to play it. However, the music they played found such an enthusiastic audience that there was almost an inconceivable level of expectation for there to be a physical copy of their material. Well, that physical copy has finally manifested in the form of Radiate and I’m glad it did. Radiate stretches, sprawls and pummels with the best of the Krautrock genre and adds some unique twists. Often times coming off as post-rock, Radiate is an incredibly fascinating listen that’s easy to absorb and get completely lost in. It’s difficult to feel the length of these tracks, which often near six minutes, because the music itself is so engaging that it’s hard not to be totally immersed in it. It ends with the one-two punch of the stormy “Saldat” and the wispy “Morgen”, providing a perfect end-cap to an unbelievably strong debut.
