Though I’ve found new electronic artists like Robert DeLong and Disclosure to be exciting, I tend to follow the same electronic musicians now as I did a decade (or more) ago. So that means if there are new songs by artists like Moby, Underworld or Deadly Avenger, I’d like to know.
BT is another one of those artists that I keep tabs on. And he’s putting out a new album, A Song Across Wires (ASAW) in August. Although PopMatters’ didn’t do an official review of his last major release, These Hopeful Machines, I felt that album was an incredible glimpse inside the auteur’s mind. At times brilliant, it challenged a lot of listeners in part due to it’s length and some tangential moments. That album still finds it way into my rotation to this day, but now I’m salivating for #ASAW based on the first track on the album “Skylarking”. Other tracks have been debuted including “Tomahawk”, “Surrounded” (which as Aqualung as a guest) and “Must be the Love”. You can view the tracklist here but you should listen to “Skylarking” below.
