New Jersey rock outfit The Gaslight Anthem are back at their Springsteen-indebted ways with Get Hurt, its latest studio release, available now through Island. PopMatters writer Matt James recently said of the LP, “Where Get Hurt is strong, it’s bulletproof.”
The Gaslight Anthem will soon begin a tour of the US in support of Get Hurt, with bands like Against Me! joining them as support. Leading up to their tour dates, however, you can check out a performance including many of Get Hurt‘s strongest cuts, as well as tracks from their past LPs, through Wal-Mart Soundcheck. Unsurprisingly, the group brings a full-throated approach to rock and roll to their performance, living up to the much-reputed live presence it has built over the course of its career. Their Wal-Mart Soundstage setlist also highlights the incorporation of vintage pop that can be heard throughout Get Hurt.
Wal-Mart Soundstage has previously hosted performances from Seether, Brantley Gilbert, Hunter Hayes, and Jason Derulo, all of which can be viewed at Wal-Mart Soundcheck’s website.
