Christine Forte

Christine Forte, columnist and book reviewer for PopMatters, studied extensively at two different US universities to obtain degrees in subjects relatively unrelated to her interests. When questioned about this, she always stoically maintains that said degrees have contributed immeasurably to her development as a human being. After deciding to get a bit more education in the culture of Europe, Christine has been living and traveling in Italy. In the last year she has focused her energies on improving both her wine-tasting abilities and her Italian language skills: sometimes simultaneously! A covert bookworm both by nature and nurture, her passions include the literary and historical, which combine to form her next life goal: to write a brilliant historical epic. Unfortunately, she is still in search of a hero. Under consideration are: Roger I of Hauteville (great invader of Sicily), Catherine Sforza (slightly criminal military mastermind), and Caravaggio (artist and scandal-maker). In the fall of 2008 she hopes to begin working on an M.F.A. in Creative Writing. Universities interested in supporting this venture should contact her without delay.
