Derek Beres
Derek Beres is the author of five books, including Global Beat Fusion: The History of the Future of Music; Sound Against Flame: The Process of Yoga and Atheism in America; and the novel, Mysterious Distance. His photojournalism has appeared in dozens of magazines, predominantly focused on the international music and yogic arts scenes. He is one half of EarthRise SoundSystem, who has two albums being relased this year: The Yoga Sessions, which features Karsh Kale, Morley, Vishal Vaid, Carol C and many others; and Remixes, which is a collection of their versions of Femi Kuti, Novalima, Deva Premal, Bombay Dub Orchestra, and more.
