Kathryn Hummel

Kathryn lives in and travels out of Adelaide, South Australia, where she recently has completed her Honours degree in Arts. A self-described hack, Kathryn's fiction and non-fiction has previously appeared in publications as diverse as Bread and Wine (advocating the ordination of women to the priesthood), Meanjin (one of Australia's top literary journals), and the Spiny Babbler Anthology (available out of Kathmandu). Her biggest written work to date is undoubtedly the thesis, "Deliciously in Between: Gender Transgression and Conservatism in Celluloid Gay Best Friendship", in which she was lucky enough to combine two of her passions: film and gender studies. Although overwhelmed by the world in general, Kathryn has managed to visit many parts of it and decided that she likes, among other things: Custard, Belle and Sebastian, Noel Coward, Marian Keyes, Haruki Murakami and Katherine Mansfield.
