Right now, the United States, as well as the world, is going through harrowing times. Whether you are looking at the current state of division in politics, towards natural disasters, or the encouragement of hate groups, there is no shortage of discouraging news hitting our feeds at every blink of an eye.
When times get tough like this, you can always rely on music as an artistic expression that won’t go down without a fight. It manifests itself in different ways, whether it’s calling for peace and passiveness, or telling its listeners not to back down and to say their part against injustice forthrightly.
Dan Miraldi‘s latest record, Love Under Fire, fits snugly into the latter camp. It features a series of stirring rock anthems made in protest of the world’s current social and political climates.
“A task is more bearable when you have the right music. These are strange times, and it is easy to get discouraged with all that is happening in this country and around the world,” says Miraldi. “However, this EP is not about sorrow.”
“I wrote these songs to empower and motivate people to not back down in the face of injustice and bigotry. We do not have the luxury of being passive. Love Under Fire is an anti-complacency rock and roll record. It’s about what is happening right now, and I recommend playing it loudly.”
Dan Miraldi’s Love Under Fire releases on 22 September.
