Chris Ingalls: Dense stuff, but it really breathes, thanks to some incredibly imaginative samples and beats. Playful but not insignificant in the least. Reminiscent of some of the great music Jameszoo‘s been cranking out. A dizzying collage that fuses dance, funk and electronic pretty seamlessly. [8/10]
Steve Horowitz: A tasty treat: a mash of electronic sounds, accidents, loops and ambient noise served lightly over happy spirits. The jazz-like improvisations keeps the music interesting while the repetition offers comfort. It’s like hearing kids playing with toys in the next room. [8/10]
Mike Schiller: It’s just a flighty little wisp of a song, but that’s fine because there’s so much going on. Pretty-but-broken keyboards evolve into beats, which evolve into more complex beats, in which vocal samples are discovered and thrown over the top and in between the cracks. It’s a fascinating piece that meshes machines with emotional outbursts in an extremely effective way. It’s a lovely little bit of electronic mayhem. [8/10]
Adriane Pontecorvo: It starts out charming and twinkly, but “Bug Thief” ramps up fast into a dramatic electronic adventure. Iglooghost’s enthusiasm in experimenting with speed and rhythm keeps his music interesting, and it makes for an exciting journey through a shadowy forest of synths. When everything evens out at the end, the freefall is positively blissful. [7/10]
Chris Thiessen: “Bug Thief” is the musical equivalent of a chase scene, a high energy instrumental sure to get your blood flowing. Iglooghost never sits on one idea for too long here, changing up textures and rhythms with ease before finally landing in beautifully interwoven arpeggiated guitars and chirping synths. [8/10]
