Louden Swain comes out swinging with their energized indie rock cut, “There’s the Rub”. The rock jangler’s music video stars band leader Rob Benedict’s Supernatural co-star, Kim Rhodes, losing herself in the electricity of the song between band shots. It captures the track’s vivacity—an easy bet for a tune that gets listeners up on their feet with its swagger. Benedict commands a hearty vocal delivery backed by Louden Swain’s Michael Borja, Billy Moran, and Stephen Norton, who fuel its infectious energy with their instrumental performance.
“There’s the Rub” finds Louden Swain victorious; it’s a celebratory look back on collective struggles overcome. Benedict divorced, Borja lost his father, and Norton battled colon cancer while the band as a whole sorted through the ongoing pandemic. Yet, they kept an optimistic beat to their step. Such is the mood of “There’s the Rub” and the album on which it features, aptly titled Feelings and Such. The album is due out on 11 November and will be played in its entirety at a special release show at Los Angeles’ Woodshed Studio that same day.
